Entries are open for the Amused Moose Comedy’s National New Comic award 2020.

Past winners and finalists of this prestigious award include Jack Whitehall, Rob Beckett, Sarah Millican. Jimmy Carr, Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan. Katherine Ryan, Simon Amstell, Rhod Gilbert, Josie Long, Alex Zane, Mark Watson, Nina Conti and Alex Horne. But where are they now? Eh? …. Oh!

The last two winner’s include Maisie Adams in 2018 whose recent appearances on Mock The Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats and HIGNFY have rasied her profile significantly.

2019 winner Babatunde Aleshe also won the Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards and appeared in Dave Chapelle’s live showcase, The Process.

One of our writers was at the 2019 Finals Night in Edinburgh, and Babatunde smashed it out the park. This is a name you going to hear a lot more of over the next couple of years.

So, if you are a budding comic genius and you want to be the next stand up mega star then follow the link to Amused Moose and enter the competition.

You will need to submit a short clip of you in performance (8-10 Minutes). This will be judged by a panel of industry experts, who will produce a shortlist for a series of semi-finals nights, in London’s Soho. The top 60 rated acts will go to the live showcases, in London. Winners from these events will go through to the live final.

The judges for the Amused Comedy National New Comic Awards all work in the comedy industry. Even by entering you will be seen by agents, bookers, performers, writers, reviewers as well as TV and Radio producers. This is a serious showcase, for emerging talent.

There is a limited time, entries close on 14 January 2020.
